Leisure Attendant

As a Leisure Attendant, you will help ensure our sports centres operate safely, efficiently and to a high standard by:

• Setting up and dismantling equipment for activities, events and facility hire bookings
• Supervising users and promoting the safe use of facilities
• Maintaining clean, tidy and welcoming environments, including changing rooms and indoor and outdoor spaces
• Carrying out routine facility inspections and basic equipment maintenance
• Delivering friendly, professional customer service to visitors, customers and community groups
• Supporting site security arrangements, including key-holder responsibilities where required
• You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, whilst also being confident working independently when needed.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and customer-focused Leisure Attendant to support the operation of our sports facilities across Winterstoke Hundred Academy and Hans Price Academy. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for students, community groups and facility users., We are looking for someone who:
• Has a strong awareness of health and safety, safeguarding and security procedures
• Can confidently supervise facility users and promote safe working practices
• Delivers excellent customer service and communicates professionally with a wide range of people
• Remains calm, approachable and solutions-focused when responding to queries or concerns
• Is practical and hands-on, with the ability to move and set up equipment safely
• Takes pride in maintaining clean, welcoming and well-presented facilities
• Is able to work independently and use initiative when required
• Demonstrates flexibility, reliability and a proactive approach to work
• Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to the working environment
• Is committed to equality, inclusion and ensuring a positive experience for all facility users
• Has experience working within a sport, leisure or educational environment (desirable)
• Holds a First Aid qualification, or is willing to undertake training (desirable)
  
  Winterstoke Hundred Academy is named after the historic parish of Weston-super-Mare and launched as a new 11-19 Academy in September 2020, admitting pupils for the first time in that year into Year 7 and Year 12. The academy is growing year by year, and we have been very pleased that our incoming cohorts in Year 7 have been oversubscribed in consecutive years, while our post-16 applications also show significant growth. We recently opened a state-of-the-art, net-zero building at Locking Parklands for Years 7-11, with post-16 education continuing at the original Beaufighter Road site, just a five-minute drive away.
