Full Job Description

As a Legal Engineer, you'll work on some of the firm's most innovative client-facing projects, collaborating closely with legal teams and colleagues across legal support functions to design and develop digital solutions using the firm's low-code platforms, including HighQ, Microsoft Power Platform and Legora. You'll work at the intersection of law and technology, applying your knowledge to develop solutions that help legal teams and clients better manage their legal operations. Increasingly, this role sits at the forefront of the firm's use of artificial intelligence, helping to design, implement and evaluate AI-enabled solutions that enhance how legal services are delivered. You'll build strong relationships with clients, lawyers and support staff across a range of sectors. What you'll be doing

  • Creating prototypes and proof of concepts, iterating these into fully working solutions in close collaboration with lawyers - and designing AI-enabled workflows to support process standardisation and continuous improvement across legal teams.
  • Assessing and evaluating the quality and accuracy of AI-generated outputs against the firm's governance standards, whilst analysing new and emerging technologies - with a particular focus on AI tools, platforms and frameworks relevant to the legal sector.
  • Creating templates and reusable assets to improve standards and speed of delivery, collaborating with the Data team on MI requirements, and producing functional and technical documentation - including workflow maps and portal build guides - to improve the maintainability and usability of the firm's digital platforms.

Familiarity with AI tools and platforms, with the ability to design and build AI-enabled solutions, strong prompt engineering skills, and a methodical approach to evaluating the quality and accuracy of AI-generated outputs to ensure they are fit for purpose in a legal context.
  • The ability to design logical, user-friendly digital workflows and automated processes with conditional logic, combined with a systems-thinking mindset that can break down complex problems into smaller, manageable components.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills, excellent communication and a genuine enthusiasm for new technology - particularly artificial intelligence - alongside a collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

We're looking for a talented Legal Engineer to design and deliver innovative digital and AI-enabled solutions that transform how legal services are delivered to clients.

We offer a flexible and hybrid working model. Our comprehensive benefits package includes private medical insurance, pension contributions, an employee assistance programme, and a range of wellbeing initiatives. Enhanced parental leave is also available, reflecting our commitment to supporting you through every stage of your career and life.
  • Many of our people work flexibly in some way and we're open to considering how we can accommodate flexible working arrangements alongside role requirements. If this is important to you, please talk to us about it during the recruitment process. We celebrate diversity and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, social economic background or age. We're a Disability Confident Employer and will offer an interview to disabled applicants who best meet the minimum/essential criteria for the role.
