Location: Flexible across the UK, with a preference for Birmingham, Olney, Bromsgrove, Cardiff or ManchesterHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday At Mitie, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a commercially astute Legal Counsel to join our team supporting Mitie's growing Power & Grid division. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and high-value projects that support critical infrastructure across the UK, partnering closely with operational, commercial and leadership teams to provide pragmatic legal advice and help drive business success. Role ResponsibilitiesDrafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts and project agreementsAdvising on construction, engineering and infrastructure projects, including NEC contractsProviding clear, risk-based legal advice on operational, procurement and commercial
mattersSupporting stakeholders with compliance, governance and contractual risk managementDeveloping legal processes, contract templates and governance frameworks to drive continuous improvement What We're Looking ForQualified Solicitor (England & Wales) & relevant experience gained in private practice or an in-house environmentStrong experience in construction, engineering or projects law, ideally within the Power, Energy or Utilities sectorWorking knowledge of NEC contracts and project delivery frameworksExcellent commercial contract drafting and negotiation skillsThe ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and confidently to non-legal stakeholdersA collaborative and proactive approach with the confidence to influence and challenge when required What's In It For YouFlexible and hybrid working arrangementsExposure to major infrastructure, energy and grid projects across the UKA supportive, collaborative and experienced legal teamOngoing professional development and career
