Full Job Description
As a Legal Clerk within the team you will be working on large volume cases, progressing matters in line with Court orders and directions, supporting the paralegals and lawyers with the overall aim of improving citizen wellbeing. Effective Legal Clerks are essential to the successful functioning of the legal service at Birmingham.,
- Producing accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date legal documentation and court bundles, under direction, to tight deadlines
- Opening new legal case files using the case management system including setting up initial documentation and completing acknowledgments.
- To close files on the case management system, prepare paper files for off-site storage and update team spread sheets with case outcomes.
- Processing and responding to routine communication (received by post, telephone or email) taking messages, copying and scanning and distributing information as necessary.
- Operating legal procedures including authentication and sealing of documents, producing case management reports and assisting with routine processes such as processing invoices. Benefits of working at Birmingham City Council:
