We do this through the people who work for us, so it's paramount to us to ensure that our employees are supported and valued.The OpportunitySalary: £26,409 to £34,314 per annumWorking Pattern: Full time, 37 hour per weekLocation: County Hall, Chichester and hybrid working from homeInterview date: w/c 04 and 11 August 2025As our Legal Assistant, you will provide legal support to the Property Team who aim to meet the requirements of clients by delivering a timely, efficient and professional legal service.There is some direct responsibility for handling and processing legal information where care, accuracy and confidentiality are important, and you'll be required to prepare legal documents for
distribution.There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public, clients and other colleagues.There is the option to undertake a formal training programme leading to a legal qualification. We are keen to support professional development of our staff, and thorough training in all aspects of the post will be given in order to ensure that you develop further skills through professional practice. You are encouraged to enrol on a CILEX or SQE approved course. Progression through the grade increments will be achieved by successful performance of specific and general work areas as set out in the Career Progression Scheme.
- Ideally, you will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience within a similar role or equivalent, with relevant or organisational knowledge of systems, procedures and policies associated with operating the service.
- You will have excellent IT skills in a range of Microsoft Office applications.
- You'll be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of this fast-paced team, organising your own workload and prioritising work as required under the supervision of an experienced Manager.
- There may be occasions where you'll need to respond to unexpected situations, for example, an urgent Land Registry search or urgent charge.
- You'll be a strong team player, demonstrating confidentiality and integrity in order to provide the best possible customer service., committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
