Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026.
The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is looking to appoint a well-organised and self-motivated individual to enhance the expanding Access, Mental Health and Wellbeing curriculum area. You will deliver scheduled training, assessment/evaluation and feedback and pastoral support.
The Access programmes are credited by the OCN (open college, London network) and prepare learners to progress onto degree related programmes. Due to the opening of the new Health suite that has been introduced to the school, we are looking at expanding our Health and Wellbeing programmes. These programmes will be targeted at both 16-18-year-olds and Adults returning into education.
As our Lecturer, we would like you to hold a professional qualification in Psychology, Mental Health or Social Science (minimum L6 Diploma or Honours Degree) and hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards). You will have experience teaching both 16-18-year-olds and 19+ adults and be able to assess students' work/practitioner skills with guidance.
You will be a creative, resourceful and effective educator, able to convey knowledge, support the development of skills and support, challenge, mentor and motivate students. Able to offer effective feedback and monitor and record students' progress, you will have good general IT skills, familiar with Microsoft Office and the capacity to adapt quickly to college IT systems.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
Closing date for the return of completed applications is 24th April 2026.
The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 40 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees' physical and mental health. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.
