At the School of Health, Education, Policing & Sciences at University of Staffordshire, we have an exciting portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a strong history of health and social care education. We are keen to recruit excellent lecturing staff to support our health and social care provision. You will be joining a well-established team with a wealth of experience both clinically and academically. The school is highly interdisciplinary in nature, and a great place to develop a distinctive academic portfolio.
In addition to developing and delivering outstanding teaching and learning, you will have the opportunity to develop your own academic skillset and contribute towards our ambitious research and enterprise goals. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in research and who therefore have the potential to contribute to the University's research agenda and work with internationally leading research centres. Within this community, you will have the opportunity to grow academically while working with a team of dedicated professionals. You will get the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals who will support and encourage your career development. As a member of academic staff, you will have the opportunity to work at our Stoke and Stafford Campuses, benefiting from our state-of-the-art facilities and resources.
We are looking for experienced candidates who have demonstrable excellent subject knowledge in the wider health and social care context, with a passion to teach and shape the next generation of health and social care professionals. The successful candidate may also teach across a range of other course areas within the department as their skillset and experience allows.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Experience of working in the wider health and social care context.
- Experience of working and education in Public Health.
- Teaching in a Higher Education setting.
- Experience of research and writing for publication.
The school is committed to building a diverse community. We are encouraging talented people to join our academic team. All appointments are made on merit, on the basis of the interview and applications. We particularly welcome applications from suitably qualified ethnic minority academics, as they are currently under-represented in positions within the department.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Rebecca Ford (Course Director) - Rebecca.Ford@staffs.ac.uk
