Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lecturer with extensive Acting and Directing abilities to teach a range of performance skills from Level 1 to Level 3. The Performing Arts courses are focused on the development of skills, knowledge and behaviours specifically relevant to industry related career progression and further educational practices.

You will develop module study guides and/or schemes of work, oversee their delivery, supervise assessment processes, carry out internal verification, liaise with external verifiers/moderators as required, and provide pastoral support to students when needed.

Our ideal candidate will hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and be recognised as a good or outstanding teacher. You will hold a degree (or higher) or relevant professional qualifications in an appropriate subject, alongside suitable acting and directing abilities and industry knowledge to effectively teach a range of performance skills from Level 2 to Level 3. Experience teaching SEND learners would be beneficial, though not essential.

You will have a thorough understanding of what constitutes excellent evidence-based teaching, learning and assessment and be a reflective practitioner with the ability to develop and implement innovative approaches. A strong commitment to equality and diversity, safeguarding, personalised learning and the delivery of educational excellence is also essential.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
