The ability to teach one or more vocational modules on the BTC and the SPC is essential, as is the ability to deliver legal skills training.

Cardiff Professional Legal Studies (CPLS) is the department within the School of Law and Politics which currently offers the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), Solicitors Practice Course (SPC) and Bar Training Course (BTC) - postgraduate routes to professional qualification for solicitors and barristers. Cardiff University is the only Russell Group University to offer all these courses. CPLS also provides nationwide assessment of Duty Solicitors, Police Station Representatives, and expert witnesses. Its courses - delivered by professionally qualified staff - are well established, highly regarded within the profession and command excellent levels of satisfaction from students., Cardiff University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and to creating an inclusive working environment. We believe this can be achieved through attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse range of staff from many different backgrounds. We therefore welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of sex, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, trans identity, relationship status, religion or belief, caring responsibilities, or age. We especially welcome and encourage applications from those from under-represented groups within the University workforce, such as those who identify as LGBT +, BAME or those with disabilities. In supporting our employees to achieve a balance between their work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
Applications may be submitted in Welsh, and an application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
