Full Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Plumbing professional to join our dynamic Plumbing team and play a key role in developing the next generation of Plumbers. You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across City & Guilds Plumbing programmes from Level 1 to Level 2, supporting both 16-18 learners and adult learners on full-time courses. You will use your practical knowledge and industry experience to bring Plumbing to life through a combination of classroom-based learning and hands-on practical training, preparing learners with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in the industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Plumber looking to move from industry into education. You will join a supportive and forward-thinking team where your industry expertise is valued, with opportunities to develop your teaching practice and contribute to the continued development of our Plumbing provision. You will also play an important role in ensuring our learners are equipped with the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a changing construction sector. - Plan, deliver and assess engaging theory and practical Plumbing sessions across Level 1 and Level 2 programmes.
- Support, motivate and monitor learner progress, helping students achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential.
- Develop engaging learning resources and contribute to curriculum planning, review, quality improvement and standardisation activities.
- Maintain safe, well-organised classroom and workshop environments, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Bring current industry knowledge and real-world Plumbing practice into the learning environment.
- Act as a tutor and provide appropriate academic, pastoral and progression support to learners.
- Maintain accurate records of assessment, attendance and learner progress in line with College and awarding body requirements., The College has a strong commitment to working towards the implementation of equality of opportunity in both service delivery and employment. - Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or an equivalent relevant industry qualification.
- Relevant and substantial Plumbing industry experience; previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, DET, DTLLS or Cert Ed, or a willingness to work towards one.
- An assessor qualification, such as A1, CAVA or equivalent, or a willingness to undertake the qualification.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Plumbing industry standards, practices and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and support learners from diverse backgrounds.
- A genuine passion for developing people and sharing your industry knowledge, with a commitment to learner success, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Safeguarding Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education All employment offers are subject employment checks.
