Here at Brockenhurst College, we are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Music on a part-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £31,930 to £42,454 pro rata per annum. (Unqualified teachers £25,297 to £31,930 pro rata per annum.)

The Role:

As our Lecturer in Music, you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching.

Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Music will include:

· Teach BTEC Music and lead practical music ensembles as agreed with the Curriculum Leader,

· Provide pastoral support where required

· Act as Course Leader, when requested

· Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records and provide timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate

· Work closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of student

· Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning

· Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum

· Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course

· Organise and participate in relevant visits, field trips etc

· Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, including Enrolment/Open Events and Parents' Evening, as appropriate

· Advise and assist the Curriculum Leader and other team members in all matters related to the delivery of subject specialisms

As our Lecturer in Music, you'll ideally have:

· Degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant subject area

· Appropriate teacher training qualification

· Excellent teaching skills

· Experience in delivering Music BTEC Programme at level 3

· Experience in running music ensembles

· Demonstrate a capability with relevant Music software

· The ability to manage learners and learning effectively

· The ability to develop effective learning resources

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· The ability to relate well to learners of all abilities and to assess learner needs
