Lecturer in Motor Vehicle

Newham College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Motor Vehicle professional to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate automotive professional to share their industry expertise, inspire learners and help develop the next generation of skilled professionals for the motor vehicle industry. Whether you already have experience in teaching or are looking to take your first step into education, we would love to hear from you. You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair programmes from Level 1 to Level 3, supporting both 16-18-year-old and adult learners. Our programmes are accredited by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), providing learners with valuable, industry-recognised skills and knowledge. As a key member of our teaching team, you will deliver innovative and industry-relevant lessons across both theory and practical settings. Working across our specialist workshops and classrooms, you will create authentic learning experiences that enable learners to develop their technical knowledge, practical skills, confidence and employability, preparing them for successful progression into employment, apprenticeships or further study. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and employer engagement, helping to ensure our Motor Vehicle provision continues to meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry. This includes supporting learners to develop their understanding of emerging technologies, including electric and hybrid vehicles, and ensuring they are well prepared for the future of the sector.,

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive teaching, learning and assessment across Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair programmes from Level 1 to Level 3.
• Deliver high-quality theory and practical sessions that reflect current industry practice, awarding body requirements and college standards.
• Support learners through effective tutoring and mentoring, monitoring attendance, achievement, behaviour and progress.
• Develop learning materials, assessments and schemes of work, contributing to curriculum planning, quality improvement and standardisation.
• Build positive relationships with employers and industry partners to support work placements, industry engagement and learner progression.
• Maintain accurate records of assessment, attendance and learner progress, ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements., The College has a strong commitment to working towards the implementation of equality of opportunity in both service delivery and employment. • A strong background in the motor vehicle industry and a minimum Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent.
• Experience of delivering or supporting vocational Motor Vehicle training and assessment; teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
• A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, DET, DTLLS or Cert Ed, or a willingness to work towards one.
• An assessor qualification, such as A1 or equivalent, is desirable; V1 Internal Verification would be an advantage.
• Up-to-date knowledge of automotive industry standards, technologies and practices, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and support learners from diverse backgrounds.
