Full Job Description

We are looking for a Lecturer in Media Communications and Production to deliver teaching and supervision for students in the Sino-UK Joint BA programme and Masters programmes (MA Media and Globalisation, MA Broadcast Journalism, MA Museum and Heritage Development) at the Communication University of China (CUC) in Beijing. The role involves delivering up to 16 hours of teaching per week, supporting students through tutorials, assessing performance, and working closely with UK and China colleagues to ensure programme success. The position is based at CUC in Beijing for two 13-week periods each academic year, aligned with the CUC academic calendar.
Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and deliver up to 16 hours of teaching per week to second and third year BA students and Masters students.
Provide one-to-one and group tutorials to support student learning.
Assess student performance using formative assessment in class and summative assessment.
Supervise final projects and support students through the completion of their degree.
Collaborate with co-tutors, the UK and China leadership teams, and student support services to maintain high quality and consistency across the programme.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and contemporary teaching practices in media communications.

Minimum of two years of recent teaching experience in a higher education context.
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
Experience teaching international student groups is an advantage.
UK tax resident and legal right to work in the UK.
Capability to travel to China for teaching periods and to work within the partnership between Nottingham Trent University and CUC.

Two return flights to China per academic year, accommodation and settling-in costs provided by NTU.
NTU will cover the cost of obtaining a work visa to teach in China, subject to Chinese regulations.
30 - 35 days annual leave per year plus statutory bank holidays and university closure days, pro ratta.
