Full Job Description

The School of Management at the University of Leicester is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Healthcare Management to contribute to our growing reputation for excellence in research and education. In this role, you will undertake high-quality research, develop research collaborations, publish in leading journals, pursue external funding opportunities and contribute to the School's research profile and impact agenda. You will also engage with the public sector, businesses, policymakers and other stakeholders to maximise the contribution of your work to societal and economic wellbeing.
You will play a key role in the delivery and development of undergraduate, postgraduate and distance-learning programmes, with teaching across Healthcare Management and Management. Working within a research-led environment, you will provide an excellent student experience through teaching, supervision, curriculum development and academic support, while contributing to School and University activities.

You will hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in Healthcare Management or a relevant social science or management discipline or possess significant relevant experience. You will have recognised expertise in healthcare management, a good understanding of the UK NHS and social care system, and experience in teaching and/or research related to areas such as public policy, organisational behaviour, management and leadership, or organisational change within healthcare settings. An emerging publication record in internationally excellent journals and a research agenda aligned with the School's strategic priorities are also essential.
You will demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality research and teaching, contribute to module leadership and curriculum development, and engage effectively with students and colleagues. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, a commitment to innovative teaching across campus-based and distance-learning environments, and the enthusiasm to contribute to postgraduate supervision, student recruitment, external engagement and the wider academic community.
