Full Job Description

This opportunity is for 30 hours per week, temporary until 31st July 2027. WHAT IS INVOLVED? You will plan, deliver and assess a range of accredited programmes within Adult and Children's Social Care and Teaching Assistant provision, alongside bespoke training designed to meet employer and workforce development needs. You will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that enables learners from a variety of backgrounds to develop their skills and achieve their full potential. You will maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment, monitor learner progress, complete accurate administrative records and contribute to quality improvement activities. Working collaboratively with colleagues, employers and stakeholders, you will help develop and deliver responsive training that meets local and regional priorities. The role involves teaching in a variety of settings across County Durham and may include face-to-face, online, daytime, evening and weekend delivery. You will be expected to travel extensively between learning centres and employers' premises. The role may also involve periods of standing, manual handling, lifting, carrying and setting up equipment, as well as occasional lone working before and after classes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer with experience in Health & Social Care and Education who is passionate about helping adults develop new skills, gain qualifications and achieve their ambitions.,

  • A minimum Level 5 teaching qualification - DTLLS, CertEd or equivalent
  • A professional, vocational or graduate qualification in the field to be taught. Vocational and professional qualifications need to beat least at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and at least one level above the level to be taught.
  • Vocational qualifications or CPD must demonstrated relevant and up-to date knowledge of the subject area
  • GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths or appropriate equivalent
  • Current assessor award - D32/D33 or A1 or equivalent.
  • The ideal candidate will have recent experience of teaching within the Health and Social Care or Education vocational sector. You will have a proven ability to support learners with a wide range of needs and backgrounds, delivering both informal and regulated qualifications from Pre-Entry Level through to Level 4. You will be passionate about helping learners achieve their goals and committed to providing an inclusive, high-quality learning experience that enables all learners to succeed.
