As a Lecturer in French, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons that enable students to develop their language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. You will play a key role in supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes and progress to further study or employment. You will contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and continuous improvement, while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Plan and deliver high-quality French lessons across relevant programmes
• Develop engaging teaching materials and resources
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
• Monitor and track student progress to support achievement
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement
• Act as a personal tutor, supporting students academically and pastorally
• Maintain accurate academic and administrative records
• Participate in team meetings, CPD, and college events
  
  Degree in French or a related subject
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
• Experience teaching French at Level 2/3 (e.g. GCSE or A Level)
• Experience delivering high-quality teaching and learning at Level 3
• Strong subject knowledge and fluency in French
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire students
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding
Desirable
• Experience working in a Further Education setting
• Knowledge of current curriculum and assessment practices, To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

• DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
• Certificate in Education
• PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
• ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
• DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
• DiT (Diploma in Teaching) - if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998). Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:
• PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
• CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
• CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
