Full Job Description

Due to growing student numbers and the continued expansion of our inclusive provision, we are looking for passionate and dedicated teaching staff to join our Outstanding Foundation Learning team. We are recruiting for a range of exciting opportunities supporting young people with moderate and severe learning difficulties, additional needs, and learners who may be at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). These roles offer the opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people's lives by helping them develop confidence, independence, employability skills and positive progression pathways. The department supports students with a variety of needs and starting points, including students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), learners requiring additional support to engage in education, and those preparing for adulthood, employment and community participation. We recognise that candidates bring different skills, experiences and interests, and we will work to align teaching responsibilities with individual strengths and areas of expertise. Therefore, staff do not tend to work across all learner groups but specialise.

At our Sparsholt Campus we are looking for a candidate that ideally has a background in a land based subject area. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a talented, supportive and learner-centred team committed to inclusive practice, creativity and high aspirations for every student. What You Will Do: As a Lecturer in Foundation Learning, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and inclusive learning sessions
  • Support learners with a wide range of additional needs and barriers to learning
  • Work to create engaging curriculums linked to accreditations
  • Develop personalised learning programmes that promote independence, confidence and progression
  • Help students build employability, communication, social and life skills
  • Create a safe, supportive and trauma-informed learning environment
  • Contribute to learner reviews, target setting and progression planning
  • Work alongside specialists such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and wellbeing professionals where appropriate
  • Support learners to access meaningful next steps including further study, supported internships, apprenticeships, employment or community opportunities
  • We Are Looking for Someone Who:
  • Has a relevant teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS) or is willing to work towards one
  • Has experience of, or enthusiasm for, working with young people with SEND, moderate or severe learning difficulties, additional needs, or those facing barriers to education and employment
  • Believes in inclusive education and high aspirations for all learners
  • Can build positive, professional relationships with young people and support them to succeed
  • Is creative, adaptable and able to tailor learning to individual strengths and needs
  • Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Why Join Us? At Sparsholt College Group, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating an environment where all learners feel valued, supported and empowered to achieve their potential. We offer:
  • A welcoming, supportive and collaborative working environment
  • Excellent professional development and CPD opportunities
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing and inclusive practice
  • Opportunities to work within an Outstanding Foundation Learning provision
  • Rewarding roles where you can make a lasting impact on young people's futures
  • Employee benefits including wellbeing days, staff support schemes and additional college benefits
  • Make a real difference every day - help students grow, thrive, and reach their potential! We request that all applicants specify whether they are interested in a position at Sparsholt or Andover, a part-time or full-time position, and permanent or fixed-term contract.
