Full Job Description

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to join our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Primary Science and Education Studies team at the University of Brighton. In this fixed-term, full-time role based at our Falmer campus, you will join a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering high-quality teaching and an excellent student experience. Our ITE Primary Science and Education Studies provision is highly regarded, with strong student outcomes and a clear commitment to inclusive, practice-informed learning. You will play a key role in shaping the learning of trainee teachers and education students across both subject-specific and wider education provision. Your role will include:

  • Delivering engaging lectures, seminars and workshops across ITE Primary Science and Education Studies provision
  • Contributing to assessment and academic support
  • Supporting students in school-based training and professional learning
  • Contributing to curriculum development and course review

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
  • Significant primary experience, with particular expertise in primary science
  • Experience of supporting trainee teachers or contributing to ITE Primary Science and Education Studies provision (or extensive relevant experience)
  • A strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
