Full Job Description
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to join our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Primary and Education Studies team at the University of Brighton. In this fixed-term, full-time role based at our Falmer campus, you will join a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering high-quality teaching and an excellent student experience. Our ITE Primary and Education Studies provision is highly regarded, with strong student outcomes and a clear commitment to inclusive, practice-informed learning. You will play a key role in shaping the learning of trainee teachers and education students across both subject-specific and wider education provision. Your role will include:
- Delivering engaging lectures, seminars and workshops across ITE Primary and Education Studies provision with a focus on early years and key stage 1
- Contributing to assessment and academic support
- Supporting students in school-based training and professional learning
- Contributing to curriculum development and course review
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner schools Where possible, we align responsibilities with your strengths and interests. The role includes teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate and work-related programmes delivered year-round, including some evening and Saturday activity. We're looking for a colleague who has:
- A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
- Significant primary experience, with particular expertise in early years and key stage 1.
- Experience of supporting trainee teachers or contributing to ITE Primary (early years and key stage 1) and Education Studies provision (or extensive relevant experience)
