Full Job Description
The Economics Group comprises 44 faculty members and 20 PhD students. The Group delivers specialist undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Economics and Business Economics, and contributes to the School's other programmes. Members of the group regularly publish in top-5 general interest economics journals and leading field journals. The group makes world-class contributions to significant policy issues with high impact, including advice on trade policy, monetary policy, and industrial policy in collaboration with local government and national and international policy institutions. Members of the group are closely involved in several interdisciplinary research centres, notably the Liverpool Advanced Methods for Big Data Analytics (LAMBDA) Research Centre.
We are seeking a Lecturer in Econometrics or Applied Microeconomics to help continue build our growing strength and reputation, both in terms of research and teaching. You will possess a relevant PhD (or near completion), have research with clear potential to be published world-leading output, and be able to evidence future research plans consistent with a sustained high level of academic publications. You should have excellent teaching credentials, and be able to teach on both undergraduate and postgraduate economics programmes.
The position is permanent subject to satisfactory completion of a three-year probationary period.

The pursuit of research internationally recognised for its excellence, originality, significance and rigour is central to the ULMS culture, as is the delivery of a strong student experience.
Following the appointment of the School's Dean, Professor Julia Balogun, in 2015 and supported by strong ongoing investment from the University and its ambitious strategy for 2031, 'Liverpool 2031', ULMS is fulfilling its mission to be a globally-connected Management School whose transformative research and teaching places it at the forefront of influential knowledge leadership to better business and society. Over the last five years, ULMS has engaged in extensive recruitment of academic and professional services staff, expanding into a state-of-the-art extension, including a trading room. The School has 230 faculty, 60% international, supported by 80 professional services colleagues.
In its wider setting, the School benefits from Liverpool's standing as a member of the UK's leading Russell Group research-intensive universities and from its location in a city which combines strong cultural activity, excellent transport links, and regional beauty with a world heritage skyline and is highly ranked on quality of life in the UK, while remaining one of Britain's most affordable cities.
