On the 1 August 2026, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent will form a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South-East (LASE) University Group.

The School of Education, a thriving department of around 45 academic staff, represents a continuation of teacher training started in 1906 at Avery Hill College. Working in partnership with a broad range of educational settings across London and the South East of England; the School delivers programmes in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Further Education, and advanced and professional development at Master's and Doctoral levels.

The School is part of the University of Greenwich's highly impactful Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences. Drawing on long-established and extensive partnerships across a wide range of professional sectors, the Faculty has a strong focus on professional workforce development.

Embedded in the community but with a clear global outlook, the Faculty offers a welcoming and supportive environment to students from a wide range of backgrounds, and at various stages of academic and professional development. We aim to transform the lives of our students by providing education that provides the skills and knowledge to make a real difference to local and global communities, and empower and enable our learners to be creative, confident, and critical contributors to society.

Cross-professional collaboration is at the heart of what we do, demonstrable in the work of the Faculty's (ILD) where professionals from many different fields work closely together with researchers and stakeholders from public, charitable and voluntary organisations seeking to reduce inequalities and promote lifelong good health and wellbeing, inclusive education, decent work, and peace and justice for all. All academic staff join one of our seven ILD Research Centres.

Reporting to the Early Years Academic Portfolio Lead, you will join our enthusiastic Early Years team, teaching across our Early Years programmes, with the possibility of taking on programme leadership.

Candidates will be required to have experience of teaching in Early Years settings, will be familiar with our training curriculum, they will also have good communication skills, be organised, and flexible with fluctuating workload throughout the year.
