Paston Sixth Form College is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and inspiring Lecturer in Criminology (L3 Applied Diploma) to join our successful team. About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that inspires students to succeed. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, monitor and support student progress, contribute to curriculum development, and play an active role in the wider life of the College.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real difference to students' academic achievement and personal development while contributing to a collaborative and ambitious teaching environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Key responsibilities include:

·      Delivering outstanding Criminology teaching to post-16 learners.

·      Planning, preparing and assessing learning programmes to ensure excellent student outcomes.

·      Monitoring student progress, attendance and achievement, providing timely intervention and support where required.

·      Acting as a Form tutor, providing pastoral support, guidance and encouragement to students.

·      Contributing to curriculum planning, development and quality improvement activities.

·      Participating in open events, interviews, enrolment activities and student recruitment initiatives.

·      Working collaboratively with colleagues to support learner success and continuous improvement.

·      Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection requirements.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

·      Holds a relevant honours degree in a subject related to Criminology.

·      Is a qualified teacher.

·      Has recent and relevant experience of delivering high-quality teaching within post-16 education.

·      Possesses expert knowledge of the subject area and assessment requirements – previous experience of marking controlled assessments will be an advantage.

·      Can deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences that motivate and inspire students.

·      Demonstrates a strong track record of supporting high levels of student achievement and progression.

·      Has a proactive approach to monitoring student performance and using data to improve outcomes.

·      Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

As a College we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks as set out within the guidance from the Department for Education Keeping Child Safe in Education. We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service.
