Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic ESOL Lecturer to join the team at Newham College on a full time, permanent basis. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) across a range of accredited and non-accredited programmes. The role also involves course leadership, student support, and contributing to curriculum innovation, quality improvement, and learner progression into further study, training, or employment.,
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons that meet diverse learner needs.
- Use a wide range of teaching strategies and technologies to support achievement and progression.
- Provide timely and constructive assessment, feedback, and pastoral support.
- Contribute to the design and development of ESOL courses and resources.
- Undertake course leadership, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
- Support the delivery of work-based and community-based learning opportunities.
- Actively promote equality, diversity, safeguarding, and British values in all aspects of learning.

The salary for this position is inclusive of London weightingPlease note that we advertise our salaries on a range to indicate the trajectory of progression that can be made. Appointments are usually made at the start of the salary range. The salary structure includes progression within the published grades, subject to service, funding, and performance.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or QTLS).
- A degree or relevant professional qualification in ESOL/TEFL (or equivalent).
- Experience of teaching ESOL to adult learners across accredited and non-accredited programmes (including RARPA).
- Strong knowledge of current ESOL curriculum, frameworks, and best practice.
- Experience of supporting diverse learners to achieve and progress.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and continuous professional development.
- Flexibility to deliver across campuses and off-site locations as required.
