Full Job Description

At Hopwood Hall, our priority is to provide the best possible education for our students - ensuring that each individual is given the support and encouragement needed to achieve their goals.

Our values reflect the importance that we place on developing a caring and nurturing environment in which we expect the highest standards of work, behaviour and commitment from our students and staff.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer to join our Electrical Engineering teaching team. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified electrical engineer who can deliver practical skills and theoretical knowledge to students in a workshop and classroom setting. They will need to have an up-to-date knowledge of the electrical engineering industry and hold relevant qualifications above level 3 in electrical engineering and have industrial experience from working in an engineering industry.

About The Role

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging teaching across a range of full-time and part-time programmes. You will plan, prepare, and assess learning activities while promoting essential skills such as literacy, numeracy and digital capability.

You will also contribute to curriculum planning and support the delivery of basic and key skills. You will take responsibility for maximising learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups, ensuring an outstanding learning experience for all.

The role requires a suitably qualified and experienced professional with a strong background in the relevant subject area. Applicants should hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.

Candidates must demonstrate comprehensive subject knowledge, an understanding of current educational initiatives, and a creative, innovative approach to developing teaching materials.

Intermediate IT skills are essential, particularly in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Desirable skills include familiarity with learner management systems, student record systems, virtual learning environments and e-learning platforms.

We are a Further Education College and University Centre offering a range of full and part time courses employing over 600 staff on our campuses in Rochdale and Middleton situated to the north-east of Manchester.

We are committed to being a great place to work and have membership status of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.
