Full Job Description
To prepare, deliver, and manage effective learning strategies to ensure learners attain agreed objectives and qualifications. You would set high expectations for learners and contribute to an environment that encourages all learners to be aspirational. The postholder could teach on a range of courses and levels, with teaching hours per week. Remission hours are allocated for Assistant Head of School duties, supporting the Head of School in operational, quality, and leadership tasks. You will be a positive role model for all staff in the school and will be responsible for ensuring that the school meets the day-to-day operational standards while meeting the requirements of the college's quality processes. You will also have a teaching commitment alongside remitted hours to undertake the role. The School of Foundation Learning caters to a diverse cohort of learners, many of whom have had a disrupted educational journey or who may have ALN, and may benefit from a more nurturing environment when beginning their Post-16 journey. We act as a stepping stone into mainstream areas, offering vocationally tailored courses in the following areas, Hair & Beauty Construction Catering Health & Social Care Sport Creative Industries Performing Arts As such, we would welcome applicants who may have experience in one of the above areas as well as applicants who have a proven track record in meeting the needs of learners with increased pastoral support needs, challenging behaviours, have ALN, and who may not have had a traditional educational journey.
