What you'll do:Plan and deliver learning
Design and deliver inclusive, high-quality lessons.Create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs.Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress.Support learner development
Guide academic and personal development through tutorials and pastoral care.Maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.Enhance curriculum and quality
Keep course content current and aligned with industry standards.Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.Collaborate and uphold standards
Work with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience.Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies. What we're looking forYou'll need
A relevant subject qualification (e.g. degree or equivalent).A recognised teaching qualification.Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).The ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.Knowledge of subject-specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.Clear communication and strong organisational skills.Confidence using digital tools to support learning.A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development. Role Description Newcastle College invites applications from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about education and student progression. We are in search of a qualified and dynamic individual to join our team as a Lecturer.In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering and assessing high-quality learning experiences. Your responsibilities encompass monitoring student retention and progress, implementing timely interventions to ensure all
students meet their targets. Effective communication with parents/guardians, external agencies, and colleagues within the curriculum and support teams is paramount. Additionally, you will drive high standards in teaching and learning, fostering an environment conducive to student success. Demonstrating patience, empathy, and a positive outlook will be essential in supporting student development, while maintaining composure and remaining calm in challenging situations to ensure a nurturing learning environment.The ideal candidate will possess qualifications to honours degree level or an equivalent industry-recognised standard. Ideally, you will hold a post-16 teaching qualification, accompanied by English and maths qualifications at Level 2, or be committed to achieving these within an agreed timeframe. Experience in delivering effective education/training in Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), and/or Apprenticeships, along with a proven track record of successful
teaching and assessment practice, is highly desirable. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with digital literacy, are prerequisites. Moreover, the ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines, and adapt to flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends based on demand, is crucial.This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-motivated, cohesive, and successful curriculum team.
