Job Description

Our Supported Learning Department is looking to recruit term time only Learning Support Workers (LSWs), who must have kitchen experience. The learners you will be working with may have mild or complex learning difficulties or disabilities or autism. Most of our students are between the ages of 16 and 25.

In this extremely rewarding role, you will work under the direction and supervision of managers and teaching staff to provide high quality and appropriately targeted support for learners to facilitate their independence, personal care needs, access to learning, and integration into the College community. You will be part of a hardworking, passionate, and supportive team committed to providing the best for learners to enable them to achieve their potential.

You will primarily work within the Supported Learning area led by the High Needs Support and Funding Manager and the Head of Faculty, and will be required to work with various learner groups and/or students needing 1:1 support across the Department.

The successful candidate will have sound literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 achievement/ability in English and maths), competent IT skills, and be willing to undertake regular CPD. Experience working with and supporting high needs learners within an educational context, along with a proven ability to build good relationships and work collaboratively in a team, are essential.

All roles are term time only, meaning you will work for 40 weeks per year. We accept both part-time fractional and full-time applications, but due to the nature of the role, we can only consider applicants for a minimum of three days a week. These roles are currently based at our Lewisham Way Campus.
