Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced LSP3 to join our team. We are looking for someone who genuinely shares our passion for inclusion. You will become part of a dedicated teaching and support team with high aspirations for meeting the needs of our diverse learners. Our school values of "belong, nurture, thrive, discover and grow" underpin everything we do, and the successful candidate will actively promote these values to help create a truly inclusive learning environment for all. As an LSP3, you will play a vital role in supporting children's learning and development, helping them to reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and colleagues to provide tailored support, including for children with additional needs within Key Stage 2. We are always keen to welcome colleagues who enjoy working in Upper Key Stage 2 and have a secure knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum, alongside the subject expertise required to support high-quality teaching and effective preparation for SATs. This role will involve:

  • Delivering high-quality phonics and literacy support (including intervention where needed, using Little Wandle)
  • Supporting learning and achievement for vulnerable groups in Key Stage 2
  • Providing targeted interventions and in-class support across a range of subjects
  • Promoting independence, confidence and engagement in learning
  • You must be appropriately literate and numerate, with a strong understanding of how to support learning effectively within a Key Stage 2 environment.

  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Proven, paid experience working within a primary school as part of a Learning Support team
  • Experience delivering high-quality phonics and/or literacy interventions
  • A child-centred, flexible and professional approach
  • Desirable Skills and Training: We are particularly interested in candidates who bring additional expertise, such as:
  • First Aid training
  • Little Wandle phonics training
  • Food Hygiene certificate
  • Forest School Leader qualification (advantageous)
  • Experience of working within urban settings such as Sandwell will also be beneficial.
