Our staff play a vital role in creating a supportive, inclusive environment where students and colleagues can thrive., As a Learning Support Officer, you will play a vital role in enabling learners with additional needs to access education, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teaching staff, you'll provide tailored support across a range of curriculum areas, helping students build confidence, resilience, and the skills they need for future success. Grow your career with strong progression opportunities and continuous development, many of our Learning Support Officers have progressed into other careers across the college., In this role you will:
- Provide in-class and 1:1 support to learners with SEND, enabling access to the curriculum
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt learning strategies and resources
- Support learners' personal development, independence, and positive behaviours for learning
- Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and engagement
- Contribute to EHCP outcomes and support planning, review, and intervention processes
- Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments
Experience supporting learners with SEND (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties) - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships
- Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual learner needs
- Good organisational skills, with experience maintaining accurate records
- A proactive, flexible approach with a commitment to inclusion and learner success
