As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you'll play a vital role in helping pupils overcome challenges, build confidence and discover what they're capable of. This is so much more than classroom support. You'll build trusted relationships, celebrate every milestone and be a consistent, encouraging presence in a young person's day. From helping a pupil master a new skill to seeing their confidence grow, you'll be there for the moments that matter. Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and a supportive team, you'll help create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where every pupil feels understood, valued and empowered to achieve their potential. What you will be doing
- Support pupils in the classroom, individually and in small groups, helping them access learning and achieve their goals.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help create a calm, inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised support.
- Monitor and celebrate pupil progress, recognising every success along the way.
- Assist with classroom preparation and contribute to engaging learning experiences.
- Help ensure the safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all pupils at all times
GCSE C/4 in math's and English required. - Is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
- Is patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Brings enthusiasm, compassion and a proactive approach to every day.
- Previous experience in education or an SEN setting is desirable but not essential-we value the right attitude and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
Options Barton School is a specialist school for children and young people with autism, aged 5 to 19. Following extensive development and refurbishment works, we are expanding our team in preparation for our next intake of students.
