Learning Support Assistant (High Needs SEND)

We are seeking skilled, enthusiastic, caring and ambitious Learning Support Assistants to join our highly regarded specialist SEND provision within a vibrant, inclusive and successful sixth form college. Haringey 6th Form College's mainstream ('cross college' provision) supports young people aged 16- 19 and Learning for Life (our special provision for complex needs) supports young people from 16-25. Regardless of where high needs students are in the college, we pride ourselves on supporting a wide range of additional needs; we prepare our students for adulthood, employment, independent living and community participation. About the Role You will provide high-quality learning support working within our specialist Learning for Life provision and, where appropriate, across the wider college, supporting students to access learning, develop independence and achieve their individual goals. You will work with students with a broad range of needs including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Severe and profound learning difficulties
• Physical disabilities
• Sensory impairments
• Speech, language and communication needs
• Social, emotional and mental health needs
• Complex medical needs including genetic conditions, diabetes and epilepsy.
• Long term and chronic health conditions and disabilities.
The role may involve supporting students with:
• Personal care
• Eating and drinking support
• Moving and handling
• Hoisting
• Medical routines under guidance from healthcare professionals
Full training will be provided where required, including moving and handling, hoist training, feeding support and personal care. What we're looking for We are looking for someone who:

Education to degree level or above is desirable. Our Learning Support Assistants are faculty attached across the wider college and graduates are encouraged to contribute their academic strengths to curriculum areas wherever appropriate.
