Learning Support Assistant Contract: Full-time, Temporary (ongoing) Employer: The Supply Register, on behalf of Tyne Coast College Location: South Tyneside College Salary: £14.91-£16.28 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)About the Role The Supply Register is seeking passionate, dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join South Tyneside College on a full-time, temporary basis.This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference to students by providing tailored support to learners with a range of additional learning needs. As an LSA, you will play an important role in creating an inclusive, positive and supportive learning environment, helping students overcome barriers and achieve their academic, personal and progression goals.Working closely with teaching staff, you will provide support across classroom, small-group and one-to-one settings, adapting your approach to meet individual learner needs. You will help students develop confidence, independence
and essential skills, enabling them to make meaningful progress throughout their learning programme.If you are passionate about supporting young people and adults, enjoy helping others succeed and are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment, we would love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities Provide tailored learning support to students in classroom, workshop and practical learning environments. Support learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), learning difficulties and additional support requirements. Work alongside teaching staff to deliver engaging, accessible and inclusive learning activities. Encourage students to participate actively in their learning and develop greater independence. Monitor learner progress and provide relevant feedback to tutors and support teams. Help students develop study skills, organisation and positive classroom engagement. Provide encouragement and practical support to help learners build confidence and achieve their

goals. Assist with personal care needs where required and appropriate. Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the learning environment. Work collaboratively with teaching and support teams to ensure learners receive consistent and effective support. About You We are looking for individuals who are caring, patient and committed to helping learners reach their potential. You will ideally have: Previous experience working with young people or adults within an educational, training or support environment. An understanding of SEND and additional learning needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, caring and supportive approach. The ability to build positive relationships with learners and colleagues. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
