Full Job Description
Are you a caring and experienced Learning Disability Support Worker or Community Support Worker looking for a rewarding new opportunity? We're a leading health and social care provider seeking passionate individuals to support young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in the community., As a Support Worker specialising in learning disabilities and complex needs, your key duties will include:
- Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
- Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
- Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
- Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
- Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.
To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have: At least 12 months' experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. - PMVA training Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills. Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition. Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping. A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required)
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults)., First Aid training or equivalent., Confidence in using digital care planning systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, resilient and professional attitude.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Eligibility to work in the UK. Desired criteria
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults or Children).
- Current First Aid training.
