Full Job Description
As an L&D Quality Lead in our UK and Europe Defence team, you'll play a key role in ensuring learning solutions are designed, developed, delivered and evaluated to the highest standards. Working across multiple learning programmes and mobilisation workstreams, you'll help create impactful solutions that support operational excellence and deliver positive outcomes for our customers.
Our work touches lives, and this role has a direct impact on the quality of learning experienced across the Armed Forces Recruitment Service (AFRS). By driving continuous improvement, maintaining quality standards and ensuring learning remains aligned to operational needs, you'll help create a positive impact on communities while supporting future workforce capability and readiness.
What you'll do as a L&D Quality Lead
- Lead quality assurance activities across AFRS learning programmes and workstreams.
- Ensure learning solutions align with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) methodology, governance requirements and contractual obligations.
- Review learning products, training documentation and supporting materials to maintain high-quality standards.
- Establish and implement quality assurance frameworks, evaluation methodologies and continuous improvement processes.
- Analyse learner feedback, assessment results and performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Produce reports, dashboards and management information that support evidence-based decision making.
- Work closely with Learning and Development Managers, Course Designers, Content Creators, Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders to improve learning effectiveness and learner experience.
- Support audits, governance reviews, readiness activities and learning assurance processes across the programme.
Experience within quality assurance, evaluation or continuous improvement in a learning and development environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Experience reviewing learning solutions, training materials and documentation against defined standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across diverse teams.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Knowledge of the Defence Learning Environment (DLE), Defence, Government or regulated environments would be advantageous.
- A qualification or accreditation in Learning and Development, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), or a related discipline is desirable.
- Knowledge and practical experience of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) methodology is desirable
