As a Learning Assistant at our Brinsbury campus, you will provide vital support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and play a key role in helping them succeed in their studies and develop essential life skills, offering both academic and pastoral care.
As our Learning Assistant you will:
· Build positive, supportive relationships with students, helping them with their studies across the college and promoting inclusion, independence and confidence.
· Provide them with one on one or group support in a classroom or workshop setting. This will include students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including emotional, social, behavioural and mobility needs.
· Assist with personal care and administering medication where needed.
· Promote independence, inclusion, and confidence.
What we can offer you in this role:
· Work in an exceptional environment - Based on a stunning 540 acre estate, Brinsbury offers access to a commercial farm, livestock enterprises, equine facilities and extensive land-based resources that create a truly unique place to work.
· A diverse student body, positive atmosphere, ample support services, innovative teaching methods, community engagement and a celebration of individual differences.
· An environment that fosters personal growth and collaboration, to change lives through learning.
· We actively encourage applications from those seeking part-time roles, job shares, or other flexible working arrangements. Whether you're balancing caring responsibilities, pursuing personal goals, or simply seeking a healthier rhythm between life and work, we're here to support you.
· Experience working with students, particularly those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, emotional, social and behavioural needs.
· Ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing.
· An ability to work in a confidential manner.
· Knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
· Local Government Pension Scheme, with the Group contributing 15% of your actual pensionable pay.
· 25 days annual leave, increasing to 28 days in line with continuous service, plus bank holidays and college closure days over the Christmas period which are not deducted from annual leave entitlement (paid as part of the salary for Term-Time-Only roles).
· Access to a range of discount schemes including shopping, restaurants, gym, travel, cinema and onsite facilities.
· Employee Assistance Programme.
· Enhanced family friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave.
· Continuous professional development opportunities.
