Full Job Description
Do you have a passion for Positive Behaviour Support? Do you want to improve the lives of people with a Learning Disability? Are you a qualified Behaviour Analyst or Therapist? If so Hampshire & Southampton's Intensive Support Team (IST) would be a great fit for you. We are seeking a Lead Therapist/Practitioner, to join us at Thomas Lewis House in Southampton. The team works with people with a Learning Disability who present with complex challenging needs. We have a 16 week assessment and intervention process to respond to those who need PBS input to build their quality of life. The team work across Hampshire and Southampton with Community Learning Disability Services, and in collaboration with other agencies. You will be joining a supportive and dynamic team, working alongside Nursing, Psychology, Behaviour Specialist, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Ideally, this role would suit an individual with a behavioural and/or therapeutic background. You will be responsible for a caseload and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team completing functional behaviour assessments and developing PBS plans, as well as managing the therapists in the team. - To be responsible for the planning and delivery of a therapy service within the Inpatient and Intensive Support Service
- To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Directorate therapy services, holding responsibility for defined projects
- To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the Intensive Support Service within Hampshire Learning Disability Community services
- To manage a caseload of clients with complex needs in a variety of community settings using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
- To ensure supervision of students on practice placement occurs
- To provide professional leadership for therapy staff within the Intensive Support Services including recruitment, supervision and appraisal systems. This would include the provision of clinical supervision for staff within own therapy group (i.e., OT or SLT) but also of other professions.
