Leading and coordinating clinical governance activities across NOTSSCaN theatres Supporting incident management, investigation, and learning dissemination Facilitating risk assessments, ensuring timely review and mitigation of clinical risks Monitoring, analysing, and reporting clinical outcomes and quality metrics Supporting compliance with Trust policies, national standards, and regulatory requirements Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to drive improvements in patient safety and experience Contributing to quality improvement projects and audit programmes Providing specialist advice, education, and support to theatre staff on governance processes, NOTSSCaN theatres comprise of 40 operating theatres and associated Satellite sites across 4 sites. We deliver highly specialized care to adults and Children, we are a major trauma center and referral center for many other specialist services. The assurance coordinator will work alongside the multidisciplinary teams to provide a safe and effective environment for our patients and staff.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to support the delivery of the Divisional and Trust-wide clinical governance agenda, with a strong focus on patient safety, clinical risk management, and the continuous improvement of clinical outcomes across NOTSSCaN theatres. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with theatre teams, clinical leads, governance colleagues, and senior leadership to ensure that high standards of safe, effective, and evidence-based perioperative care are consistently met. You will champion learning from incidents, promote quality improvement initiatives, and facilitate robust governance processes that support exceptional patient care. The successful Candidate will require a minimum of 5 years theatre experience.,

  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in theatre practice.
  • Educated to degree level
  • Has worked as a band 6 in the theatre environment/critical care
  • Has an understanding of clinical governance and assurance
  • Professional registration
  • Desirable criteria
  • PG cert or working towards a higher qualification
  • Previous experience of working in assurance and governance
