Full Job Description

Thank you for your interest in the position of Strong Foundations Teacher. We hope this information pack provides a clear insight into our school and inspires you to consider joining our dedicated, collaborative and forward-thinking team. We are seeking an exceptional Primary specialist to help lead and further develop our newly established Strong Foundations provision at Woodcote High School.

What does the role involve?

The successful candidate will design and deliver a bespoke curriculum, lead evidence-informed interventions, and support colleagues in developing expertise in line with whole school priorities. You will also help to establish robust systems for assessing and tracking impact, ensuring that our work leads to sustained improvement in student outcomes. This is a unique and transformational role, focused on strengthening the four pillars identified in the Ofsted Inspection Framework: Reading, Writing, Oracy, and Early Numeracy. Working alongside existing literacy and inclusion expertise, this role will play a key part in enhancing and extending our whole-school approach to foundational skills. Our students arrive at secondary school with varying levels of foundational knowledge, and many face barriers linked to SEND and disadvantage. Reading remains the single most powerful predictor of academic success, and we are committed to ensuring that every student receives the expert, systematic support
they need to thrive.

Who are we looking for?

The job description and person specification shown in the application pack will give you a good indication of what we are looking for, including the skills and experience that would make for our ideal candidate.
