We are recruiting on behalf of a successful academy seeking an exceptional Lead Practitioner for Maths to join their team from September 2026., As Lead Practitioner for Maths, you will work closely with teaching staff and leaders to embed consistently high-quality pedagogy across the department and wider school. You will support colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and professional learning, helping to shape a culture where strong teaching practice, reflection, and ambition drive pupil achievement in Maths. What You Will Do

  • Model consistently high-quality Maths teaching across the classroom
  • Develop and share high-quality teaching resources and exemplars of best practice
  • Lead coaching, mentoring, and training to support staff development and appraisal
  • Use attainment and progress data to identify teaching and pupil needs
  • Implement targeted strategies to raise standards and improve outcomes
  • Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities, including lesson observations, learning walks, and work scrutiny
  • Research and promote evidence-informed teaching approaches
  • Design and deliver high-quality professional development for Maths and wider teaching staff
  • Professional Conduct and Responsibilities

    This is a senior teaching and learning role for an individual who combines outstanding classroom practice with a strong commitment to developing others. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening Maths teaching across the academy by modelling excellence, coaching colleagues, and leading high-quality professional development rooted in evidence and impact., This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner with deep subject expertise, high expectations, and a collaborative approach who believes passionately in the power of great teaching to transform outcomes., Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Extensive experience teaching Maths with proven classroom excellence
  • Strong subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop other teachers
  • Confidence using data and research to inform teaching improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to raising achievement and supporting high-quality teaching
