We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Community Nursing Service as a Lead Practitioner within the Integrated Out of Hours (OOH) Team, working across Staffordshire from three hub locations. We are seeking NMC registered professionals with strong clinical leadership skills to support the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care. You will play a key role in staff education and development, supporting the embedding of our new service model. The service operates from 17:00-08:15, providing essential out-of-hours community nursing care across Staffordshire. Working closely with the Leadership Team and senior nurses, you will support the day-to-day running of the service, including managing emerging risks, supporting governance and reporting, contributing to service development, and promoting a positive learning culture. You must be motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to developing others. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the confidence to challenge and improve practice. Competence in core community nursing skills is required. Regular evening shifts are included to support engagement with the team., As part of this role, you will be expected to:
- Support the management of the team, contributing to the coordination, leadership, and effective running of the service.
- Work as part of the wider team, covering a range of shifts including evenings and twilight shifts to ensure consistent visibility and support.
- Liaise with the Clinical Training Team to ensure the workforce has the appropriate skills and knowledge to meet the current and emerging needs of the service.
- Support staff development by providing mentorship, supervision, and guidance to both pre- and post-registered nurses.
- Promote learning from incidents, feedback, and complaints, using these opportunities to identify themes, drive improvements, and support ongoing service development.
