Lead Plant Fitter

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in asphalt, aggregates or a similar heavy industrial environment to take a lead role in maintaining and improving the performance of our plant and equipment., You will be responsible for overseeing planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns and carrying out mechanical repairs, fabrication and welding. You will also play an important role in supporting the wider operations team, ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard and the site remains safe, clean and efficient., + Leading and ensuring all maintenance activities across the asphalt and mobile plant are completed in line with statutory legislation and FM Conway's Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality policies.
+ Planning, carrying out and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, permits to work and safe working procedures for maintenance activities.
+ Ensuring all plant and equipment is maintained through an effective planned preventative maintenance and inspection programme.
+ Diagnosing faults, attending breakdowns and carrying out mechanical repairs, fabrication and welding to minimise downtime and maximise plant availability.
+ Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment, ensuring high standards of housekeeping across the site.
+ Managing maintenance activities effectively to support operational requirements and work within agreed budgets.
+ Working closely with operational teams to identify improvements, resolve issues and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Providing maintenance support at other sites when required, including breakdown assistance and planned maintenance shutdowns.

Experienced Plant Fitter or Engineer with a background in asphalt, aggregates or heavy industrial environments. Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, fault-finding and repair experience, with previous experience leading or supervising a team. Good understanding of health and safety and planned preventative maintenance. Relevant engineering qualification and full UK driving licence essential.
