Full Job Description
Our standard working hours are 37.5 per week, typically worked Monday to Friday. As the service continues to develop, there will be an expectation to transition to a 7-day working model. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Physiotherapy team in developing, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service on an operational day to day basis. This includes both an inpatient and outpatient service.
- Use highly developed clinical reasoning and an evidenced based approach in the advanced assessment and treatment of individuals with a variety of complex neurological presentations.
- Determine a clinical diagnosis and develop a treatment plan with holistic SMART goals alongside the patient and team.
- Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by use of outcomes measures.
- Ensure high standards of professionalism and clinical care through day-to-day management, supervision, training and staff development to ensure staff are working within their competencies.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to service delivery.
- Demonstrate professional and effective communication with residents, families, MDT (and wider team at Hunters Moor), commissioners and external agencies.
- Work collaboratively with the therapy manager, MDT and service manager to influence development and ensure an excellent quality of care is provided.
- Maintain CPD and development in line with the needs of the service.

Significant experience working within a neurorehabilitation setting - Proven experience working with tracheostomy or altered airway patients and delivering high-level chest physiotherapy including complex airway clearance and respiratory management.
- An ability to provide in depth training to the clinical team about neurorehabilitation / respiratory techniques / conditions.
- Demonstrate consistent ability to be empathetic, motivating and reassuring to allow for active participation
- Supervision/line management experience
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS

Our therapists have access to a full suite of cutting-edge equipment, including the Luna EMG Premium and ExoMotus M4, enabling the delivery of intensive, goal-orientated rehabilitation that drives meaningful outcomes for the people we support. Hunters Moor is a 33-bed service providing specialist support for individuals with complex neurological and physical health needs. Residents may be with us for rehabilitation, long-term care, respite, or end-of-life support. Many are admitted directly from acute or Level 1 rehabilitation settings once medically stable, enabling them to continue their recovery in a safe, supportive, and clinically advanced environment. As our Lead Physiotherapist, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation to individuals with a range of conditions including brain and spinal injury, stroke, motor neurone disease, and other progressive or complex neurological disorders. Our focus is on maximising independence and recovery through evidence-based practice and goal-driven therapy. You'll lead a skilled team within a well-established MDT that includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a speech and language therapist, psychologist, specialist nurses, and therapeutic rehabilitation assistants. Together, we support individuals with a wide range of complex needs, including cognitive impairments, respiratory and tracheostomy care, diabetes, wound and medication management, as well as stoma and catheter care.
