Full Job Description

As the Lead Pharmacy Technician for Women and Children, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering and improving safe, effective, and patient-focused medicine optimisation within our specialist services. You'll work closely with clinical pharmacists, nursing teams, and multidisciplinary colleagues to enhance patient care and outcomes across our sites., + Provide expert technical support and leadership within maternity, paediatrics, and neonatology wards
+ Lead on medicines optimisation initiatives and safety audits within the directorate
+ Supervise, mentor, and develop trainee pharmacists and technicians
+ Champion service improvement and support implementation of electronic prescribing and administration systems
+ Ensure compliance with governance, policy, and legislative frameworks

Are you an experienced and motivated pharmacy technician looking to step into a leadership role in a specialist area? University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) is seeking a passionate Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team supporting women's and children's services, including maternity, paediatrics, and neonatal care., + GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician with post-qualification experience in hospital pharmacy
+ Proven leadership or supervisory experience, ideally within clinical or ward-based settings
+ Strong understanding of paediatric and maternity medicines management (desirable but not essential - training will be provided)
+ Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills
+ A commitment to delivering compassionate, inclusive, and high-quality care
