Full Job Description
Key activities of the post holder will be to:
- To lead, deliver and contribute to the strategic development of specialist clinical pharmacy (including clinics) and medicines optimisation to the Anticoagulation Service.
- Provide expert advice on a broad range of pharmaceutical matters.
- Plan and deliver specialist training within pharmacy and to the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Plan and co-ordinate projects or audits for the Anticoagulation Service.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the Anticoagulation Service.
- Be an active member and contribute to the Hospital Thrombosis Group.
This is an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced, high calibre pharmacist looking to further advance their career and develop leadership, clinical and prescribing skills within Anticoagulation and Haemostasis at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will need to be flexible and organised, be able to align their values with those of the organisation, work well within a team and have a 'can do' positive attitude., We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic senior pharmacist to make a difference and ensure the best outcomes for our patients. The post holder will work to ensure the continued provision and development of high quality, comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to patients as well as influence senior managers and clinicians. The role also offers an excellent opportunity to develop change management experience, with involvement in the Trust's proposed Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) project, to switch the first-line pharmacological thromboprophylaxis agent across the Trust. We will provide the successful candidate with a comprehensive induction covering all aspects of Trust work, support from senior pharmacy staff and an environment to develop further., The successful applicant will enjoy working in a busy challenging environment, be able to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight deadlines. You will have good communication skills and be an enthusiastic educator. You should possess a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent and have the relevant hospital pharmacy experience. Experience of working and influencing in a multi-disciplinary team and an independent prescribing qualification (or working towards this) are essential.
