Lead Occupational Therapist

Youll be joining a service for adult men 18+ who potentially have a forensic background and enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and challenging behaviours. With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload using evidence-based and people-focused principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual and group interventions which will support the service users to develop their skills in self maintenance, productivity and leisure. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, youll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals., As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and encourage the service users to be fully engaged in their care pathway. You will manage and coordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring treatments, activities, and interventions are delivered effectively. The role involves ensuring the team maintains accurate records of each patient's rehabilitation progress and supporting clinical team working, including direct interventions and staff training. A key part of the role is receiving and responding to referrals, undertaking patient assessments, and delivering appropriate interventions. The aim is to develop living skills, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities for the service users.
