Lead Nursery Nurse

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting mothers experiencing severe mental health difficulties, while ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and healthy development of their infants during admission. You will lead the team of Inpatient Nursery Nurses, holding a professional leadership role jointly with their Team Managers who retain oversight of management, supervision and an overview of job planning and service development. You will liaise with other members of the clinical team with regard to the spectrum of care for babies. You will also participate in monthly service performance, delivery and business meetings, multi- professional team meetings, handover meetings and other opportunities for feedback and discussion, as required. You will alongside the Team Psychologist to develop and implement programmes of parent-infant relationship support for the mothers and families within the service. You will alsooversee the organisation and planning of structures play and stay groups for services users and their children., What you'll do:

• Lead, supervise, and support a team of nursery nurses and support staff.
• Deliver high-quality care to infants, ensuring their safety, emotional wellbeing, and developmental needs are met.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, including nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, and occupational therapists.
• Provide guidance and modelling to parents, supporting positive bonding and parenting skills.
• Contribute to care planning and safeguarding processes.
• Maintain a therapeutic, nurturing, and safe environment on the unit.
  
  Substantial post-qualification experience working with babies and families.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills, with experience supervising staff.
• Understanding of child development, safeguarding, and the impact of perinatal mental health difficulties.
• Compassion, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
• Previous experience of Perinatal Mental Health Care provision, is not essential, however would be of huge benefit., NNEB or equivalent qualification i.e. relevant NVQ level 3
• Educated to Degree level in, leadership or management, or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience, Advanced Nursery Nurse qualification
• Counselling qualification, Significant experience of working as a qualified nursery nurse within pre-school provision.
• Previous experience of accurately inputting data into electronic system
• Experience of maintaining confidential records
• Experience of managing a Team
• Experience of delivering clinical supervision
• Experience of working in a multi disciplinary Team, Previous NHS Experience
• Motivated and committed to work in mental health, Knowledge of Child Protection procedures
• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of effective team working
• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of confidentiality
• High level communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
• Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
