Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Nurse to work in partnership with the Ward Leader for the Neonatal Unit and Maternity Ward, providing exceptional holistic neonatal and family-centred care. You will help ensure that care is evidence-based, aligned with best practice, and fully compliant with national recommendations for Neonatal Transitional Care (NTC) services. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a 4-bedded Neonatal Transitional Care service, caring for infants who meet the BAPM 2017 criteria. Transitional Care beds are located across both the Maternity Ward and the Neonatal Unit at King's Mill Hospital. Our team is committed to keeping mothers and babies together, avoiding unnecessary separation and reducing admissions to the neonatal care unit.,
- Provide strong, visible clinical leadership, inspiring and empowering colleagues to deliver high-quality neonatal transitional care.
- Act as a role model, upholding agreed clinical standards and promoting best practice in safeguarding and child protection.
- Maintain a high clinical profile and support the application of theory to practice. At King's Mill Hospital, you'll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering outstanding care for mothers and babies. You'll have opportunities to develop your skills, influence service development, and make a meaningful impact on neonatal transitional care.
We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation. We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as 'outstanding' for care and our King's Mill Hospital as the only 'outstanding' NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands. Not all of our roles are eligible for visa sponsorship. To find out which roles are eligible, please refer to the shortage occupation list found here
