Full Job Description
Wycliffe College are seeking an experienced Lead Nurse to oversee medical and health provision throughout the College, leading and mentoring a new healthcare team and helping to create a dynamic, sector-leading provison. The successful candidate will oversee the Health Centre, promote the health and wellbeing of pupils, provide strong clinical leadership and work closely with the Head of Safeguarding, Deputy Head (Pastoral) and boarding house teams.
Applicants must be NMC registered, hold a relevant nursing or healthcare qualification and First Aid certification, with at least two years' post-registration experience in two or more of the following areas: first aid, minor injuries, sports injuries, adolescent issues, immunisation programmes, chronic disease management or mental health. We are looking for a compassionate, confident and highly organised professional with excellent clinical judgement, communication and interpersonal skills, sound knowledge of healthcare standards and a strong commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality. Experience in a school environment, working with children or teenagers, or managing healthcare professionals would be desirable.
This is a permanent position offered on a term-time support staff contract (35 weeks per year plus eight additional days in the school holidays). A typical working day is 8.5 hours with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break. Start and finish times vary depending on the shift (the 'early' shift typically starts at 7.45am and finish at 4.15pm, the 'later' shift starts at 9.45am and finishes at 6.15pm). The role is 5 days per week, including one in three Saturdays (up to 12 per year on average). The weeks you work a Saturday you will have one day off in the week. One in three Sundays (up to 12 per year on average) you will also be required to be on-call. Salary: £41,572 per annum (FTE £45,096) Other benefits available include:
