As Lead Midwife, you will work closely with the Intrapartum Matron and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care across the Labour Ward, Maternity Triage, and Obstetric Theatre., 1. • NMC Registered Midwife
• BSc in Midwifery
• Evidence of professional development
• Assessor/mentorship course or equivalent ALSO/NALS/MOET course, Masters in Midwifery, or evidence of working towards
• Professional Midwifery Advocate
• Managerial/Leadership qualifications and / or experience, Awareness and understanding of current national and local midwifery issues.
• Demonstrate a desire to improve standards
• Knowledge of clinical governance and risk management
• Understand systems of team approach in midwifery
• Understanding of change management process., Extensive post registration clinical experience
• Experience of working in both hospital and community settings
• Experience of line management duties, Experience of implementing change management projects
• Management of people
• Experience of coordinating a labour ward, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Teaching skills
• Ability to be objective when assessing staff
• Ability to give and receive feedback, Examination and assessment of the newborn
• Experienced in managing groups
• HDU trained
