Full Job Description
Lead Green Roof Installer to develop specialist expertise in green roofing and help establish a new installation service within a growing sustainable-construction business. As the Lead Green Roof Installer, you will deliver green roof installations across residential and commercial projects. You will work independently on suitable projects and supervise subcontract installers or labourers when additional support is required. Working closely with the Managing Director, you will help develop installation methods, procedures and quality standards as the service grows. Specialist training in the company's green roof systems will be provided. The role offers genuine progression potential towards an Installation Manager position, with further senior management opportunities available as the installation division develops.,
- Install extensive green roof systems across residential and commercial projects
- Assess roofs and sites before installation when required
- Check that roofs, waterproofing and access arrangements are suitable before work begins
- Plan the practical installation and sequencing of each project
- Complete installations safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard
- Identify and communicate potential site or installation issues
- Liaise professionally with homeowners, builders, developers, roofing contractors and site teams
- Lead and supervise subcontract installers and labourers on larger projects
- Photograph and document completed work for quality-control and project records
- Complete green roof inspections and maintenance visits
- Help develop installation methods, procedures and quality standards
At least one to two years of practical roofing experience - Experience working safely at height and relevant basic training
- A full UK driving licence
- The flexibility to travel across London, the South East and South West
- The flexibility to stay away overnight occasionally Please ensure these requirements are clearly demonstrated on your CV.,
- Practical roofing experience, ideally gained over at least one to two years
- A good understanding of roofing construction and waterproofing principles
- Working at Height training and experience working safely at height
- Strong practical and problem-solving abilities
- A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects
- Confidence supervising other trades or labourers when required
- Good communication skills and a professional manner with customers
- A reliable, positive and solutions-focused approach
- A genuine interest in sustainable construction and developing a career within the green roofing sector
- A full UK driving licence The right attitude, mindset and willingness to develop within the green roofing sector are more important than extensive specialist green roof experience.,
- Flat roofing experience
- Green roof or living roof experience
- Experience with EPDM, single-ply or other waterproofing systems
- CSCS card
- Manual Handling training
- First Aid certification
- SSSTS or similar site-supervision experience
- Experience supervising small teams or subcontractors
Business travel and agreed expenses paid - Specialist green roof product and installation training
- Potential performance-related bonus as the installation division develops
